Magic Jack is a new technology that you might want to get to save more on your phone bills. However, before you jump from your seat to look for the nearest store that sells Magic Jack, it is important to know something about what this device can do. For those people who do not speak computer language, you might be wondering “what’s the fuss about this technology?”

It is simple. Magic Jack is a Voice over the Internet Phone (VoIP), which is a technology that allows you to network your phone to your computer. This technology is no longer new so there is nothing to get excited about this particular technology. However, with Magic Jack, the company did something to revolutionize people think about VoIP. Unlike other VoIP that you have encountered such as the ones provided by Vonage, Magic Jack is a tiny USB device that you insert directly into a PC and a phone and it auto-configures it to provide VoIP while using a broadband connection. You also do not need to buy special phones, like with Vonage, since all you need to use is your cell phone. So how do you connect these technical mumbo jumbos with lowering your phone bill? Here’s how.

Magic Jack allows your computer to talk to your mobile phones or landlines so that you can make long distance calls with a local charge. Basically, with Magic Jack, its idea is to make the PC a home media center, telecom center and contact center all in one. It revolutionizes the way VoIP is used.

In fact, Magic Jack allows the fist pairing of consumer telephone device- in this case, the ordinary cell phone- to operate over the broadband network, which is something that Vonage was not able to do. The good thing about Magic Jack is that it does not rely on other networks, just like what most competitors do. It simply controls its own network so this allows you, the consumer, to carry your cell phone wherever you are and still save more money as the long distance calls are converted to have local charges. This is the reason why Magic Jack costs $19.95 for a year’s worth of unlimited talk time.

However, since Magic Jack is fairly new in the scene, it is only accessible in the major cities of America. Thus if you are out in the boondocks, there might be no signal for Magic Jack in such places. However, it is fully acceptable since the company is still on the verge of expanding its network so that it can reach a lot of people who want to take advantage of their service. Until this day comes, this is something that we should be looking forward to. It won’t be long before Magic Jack plays a significant role in every household in America. This is something worth the wait.

Moreover, some people are not quite familiar with the concept of Magic Jack. So, in order for people to understand what this is all about, the developers spent a lot on infomercials to educate people about the kind of service that they will be getting from Magic Jack. And on the positive light, people have been addressing Magic Jack as a great means to save a lot of money.

Although still premature, it is interesting to note that Magic Jack is a promising technology and this is a safe haven for people who want to save more on their phone bills. Moreover, Magic Jack can give wonders to anyone who wants to save more during these times of financial crunch.

During these times of recession, it is always a godsend to encounter any means of saving a few bucks. Some people like you would opt to sacrifice postponing your trip to a holiday get-away or not buying a game console that you have been wanting for a long time. Some would also consider giving up some of the things in the house especially those that are giving them large bills like the phone or the internet connection. Come on! Make some sense! You need these things more than your cable TV to communicate with your family, friends and the rest of the world. Before you even consider that, we want you to think first. There is still a way to save money during these trying times. How? You can try Magic Jack.

Magic Jack is a Voice Over the Internet Phone (VoIP) that allows your phone to get connected to your network. However, the good thing about Magic Jack is, you do not have to buy a special phone like the ones that you get from Vonage or other VoIP service. All you need to have is any phone that has wireless capability and the Magic Jack USB that you will connect to your computer and it will reconfigure both the computer and the phone so that you can make long distance phone calls with local charges for $19.95.

Amazing, right? This means that you do not need to own a phone line anymore. So you can completely discontinue your service with your phone company. However, just a warning though, if your internet connection is running on DSL, this means that you do not need to discontinue your phone connection since this connection gives you both phone and internet connection. These companies include AT&T among many others. Before you decide on this one, you have to confirm if it is a DSL connection. However, if it is a cable connection, then you can do away without the landline. Imagine how much you will be saving by using Magic Jack.

Okay, so you are a little skeptic about it. Of course, you can also say that you can call your friends and your family using Skype or any IM programs. However, you will be tethered on your computer and will not be able to move around. But then you say that you can use your cell phone to do that since your phone is Wi-Fi. It’s true. But does your Skype or your IM programs allow you to have unlimited conversation without having to fear of the cost that will be incurred? I think not. Moreover, if you do make a call, you need to be near your network or, if not, you need to use the internet service from your mobile companies which is another expense at your account. With Magic Jack, you only need to pay $19.95 for a whole year of unlimited talk time with no extra charge. Can Skype or your mobile internet beat that? Hmm… think again.

Another thing to consider is the voice quality offered by Magic Jack. Most of the companies that offer this service have gone under since they do not have the technology to meet the quality that the users need. Now think. Why do you have to pay more for other services if they are giving you cheap service? With Magic Jack, it is the other way around. You get quality service at a cheaper price.

During this time of recession, it is always important to save more on the things that you buy while, on the other hand, not affecting the quality of the product or service acquired. Given the above statements, can you now tell whether you are saving from Magic Jack or not?

Magic Jack is a USB device that allows VoIP through broadband connection by connecting it to your PC or phone to achieve unlimited phone service. What is special about Magic Jack is that it provides unlimited international calls. For only $19.95 a year for unlimited service, just like me, I bet you would like to see what Magic Jack is all about. However, most people think that they are getting cheap service out of the $19.95. Before you even jump to conclusions, it would be wise to get to know what Magic Jack can do. To understand this, it is better if we understand what this technology is all about. It is important to know why it was invented in the first place.

Basically, Magic Jack was invented by Dan Borislow and is marketed by Don Burns. So who are these guys? Dan Borislow was the one who introduced Talk.com to AOL while Don Burns created the 10-10 dial-around service. These guys do know what they are doing, so there is definitely a reason to believe its success. The idea is to make any computer or laptop a home media center, a telecom center and a contact center all rolled in to one using Magic Jack. It seems that the developers adhere to this idea, as they develop Magic Jack more, to run its competitor out of business if not threatened by it.

These people envision creating the first pairing of consumer telephone device that operates over the broadband network, coupled with its own integrated and quality-controlled network. This means that, even if the phone is nowhere near the network, it can still operate as long as the USB is connected to the phone. The ability of the company to control its own wireless network allows them to be able to deliver a landline-quality over your mobile phone. Amazing, huh? Moreover, voice clarity is present to give you the ultimate phone experience.

This is the reason why even Vonage and other big VoIP companies pales in comparison to Magic Jack. Moreover, Vonage simply do not have control over their network. The lack of several features of Vonage is what drives Magic Jack. The advantage of operating its own network creates huge opportunities such that it favors a development of a good business mode. Moreover, the company can pursue other companies for a merger, to be able to extend its services to the public. Unfortunately for now, the company is self-funded by both Borislow and Burns and they have invested their own money into it. Positioning the company to go public-owned or be acquired by other companies is not yet considered by the owners.

Both Borislow and Burns are still on the verge of setting up a good system, as well as a good business plan before considering to go public, sell or merge with other companies. For now, they are taking care of their brainchild as though it were their own son.

It is a good thing that they have decided to fix every loophole in the technology first, before deciding to think about other business plans. Problems faced by Magic Jack include the limited scope of their Wi-Fi signal and the developers are trying hard to remedy these concerns by trying to increase the number of cities that will be covered by the signal. Moreover, only several states of the U.S. are covered by the Magic Jack. They are still emerging as a new business, so they are still on the verge of expanding their reach. It won’t be long that even the remotest place of U.S. can be reached by Magic Jack. And until that time comes, everybody eagerly awaits it.

Magic Jack is something that you might want to consider when you are out looking for a way to save more from your phone bill. Before you get all too excited about it, it pays to know something about Magic Jack. So what exactly is Magic Jack? This is a USB device that is plugged directly into a PC and a phone. It auto-configures itself to provide VoIP while using a broadband connection. Okay, so let us discuss these technical conundrums to understand more about this technology, as well as understand if Magic Jack can truly bring magic to your phone bills.

A VoIP is also called Voice Over Internet Phone. This is no longer a new technology. In fact, other big IT companies already have it. This technology uses the power of the internet to network phone lines. What Magic Jack does is that, it allows your computer to talk to your mobile phones or landlines just like what you have in Skype. Only, Skype uses computer to computer connection and charges calls for every second of air time that you make on phone lines. Basically, with Magic Jack, its idea is to make the PC a home media center, telecom center and contact center, all in one. It revolutionizes the way VoIP is used.

Most critics think that this technology is the first pairing of a consumer telephone device that operates over the broadband network. Moreover, it also has its own quality-controlled network. Unlike other VoIP where you can only use it on phones within your network, with Magic Jack, it is possible to carry the phone wherever you are, as long as it has the configured USB giving off signal to the phone. As mentioned earlier, if you compare it with Skype, then you are dealing with regards to quality control over a network. Even the big fish, Vonage, basically resells other IP Providers from the ISP. Moreover, Vonage does not even control their network. This means that upon installing the VoIP, you need to have it reconfigured with the IP Provider. With Magic Jack, however, we control our own network thus we are able to deliver a great landline service while remaining mobile.

The drawback, for now, is that Magic Jack was only accessible to 31 cities thus this might not cover the boondocks of every state of U.S.A. The good thing, however, they are still expanding. Thus in no time at all, it will be possible for even the remotest place in America to support Magic Jack. This is something that we should be looking forward to. It won’t be long before a lot of people will consider owning a Magic Jack over other VoIPs.

On the other hand, there were other problems encountered as such that the battery life of phones runs out fast. Moreover, there are also problems regarding the unsecured wireless signal as well as voice clarity. On the other hand, Magic Jack can’t do number porting as of now. Moreover, people who do not know anything about technical stuff might not be able to understand what this technology is all about. What the developers did, they spent tons of infomercials to educate people about their service and what Magic Jack is all about. These concerns are truly understandable, as the developers are still on the verge of expanding its network.

It is interesting to note that Magic Jack, although still premature, is promising and might also be able to shift the way people think about VoIP. For this, it is safe to say that given some time, we believe that Magic Jack can bring Magic to Internet Phones.

Along with other new technologies, the Magic Jack has been received by consumers with a little hesitation, rather than with welcoming arms. At $19.95 a year for an unlimited service, a lot of people readily wanted to try it. After all, $19.95 is cheaper compared to the extra charges that they pay for other VoIP services, as well as the sky-high bill that they pay from their mobile services. So what do they have to lose? If you have never tried Magic Jack before, then it is high time that you consider buying one for yourself. However, do you still need to be convinced? Alright. Here’s what people think about Magic Jack:

Of course, people who have tried it found out that for the meager fee of almost twenty bucks, they were able to save more on their phone bills. You might raise an eyebrow on this one, and think that it would be too impossible for Magic Jack to still give quality service at such a cheap price. The reason why they offer cheap service is that, they (Magic Jack) control their own network. That means, they don’t have to subcontract other IP providers to give their phones IP addresses. Okay, let’s make it clear. An IP address is a series of numbers given off by your internet service provider- say, AT&T or Time Warner- so that your PC can have internet connection. Basically, a VoIP operates in such a way that it gets this IP address from the PC to the cell phone, to convert long distance calls to local charges. That’s why it’s cheap.

Another thing to consider aside from the price, is the availability of Magic Jack in different locations. People living in major cities, in America, were happy with the results. Since they can go to different places and make long distance calls, but still get charged at local price as mentioned earlier. The problem is that, since this company is still new, they are still expanding their coverage to encompass all areas in every state. If you are living in one of the major cities, like New York and LA, then you might want to consider getting a Magic Jack now.

Voice clarity is also another thing that most consumers are happy about, since they are getting landline-quality over their mobile phone. This means, no choppy lines, no intermittent wireless connection and, lastly, no more lost signals.

Since Magic Jack is a VoIP technology, it means that your computer is connected to the phone. You can track the history of your calls, as well as make calls from your PC to mobile phones. And, no, contrary to what most people think that a VoIP phone will be a likely candidate for hackers; Magic Jack is operating under secure connection. Moreover, unlike some Instant Messaging (IM) Programs like Skype or Yahoo! Messenger, the calls that you make from your PC to phone is still covered by the $19.95, with no extra charges incurred. For these IM Programs, they charge you by the minute. People who have tried it are mostly happy with the results that they are getting. So, are you already convinced? Not yet?

If you think that this is a scam, then think again. This technology was developed by Dan Borislow who brought Talk.com to AOL and marketed by Don Burns who created the 10-10 dial around service. These are people who revolutionized voice call applications over the internet, so you can be assured that Magic Jack is an effective way to cut back on your phone bill. If this does not convince you, we don’t know what else can.

We’re all looking for ways to save money these days, and the Magic Jack is an excellent way to do just that. You’ve probably seen the infomercial if you’ve been up late at night, and even we have to admit that the MagicJack looks interesting. If you’ve ever tried any other PC-to-phone service, MagicJack beats them hands down. You don’t have to spend extra for a headset or any other equipment, the MagicJack provides you with everything you need.

With the MagicJack, you aren’t tethered to your PC to make a phone call. The voice quality is far above that of other PC-based phone services. Most of the companies that offered these services have gone under because they didn’t have the technology to give the user the quality that they desired. So why pay more for an inferior service?

You don’t have to be tech-savvy to use it- just plug it into the USB port on your PC, then plug in your phone. We tried it out, and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the MagicJack.

We think that MagicJack is a great deal. Especially since they offer a 30-day free trial, which lets you try it out before purchasing. Plus, if you order online, shipping and handling is completely free.

With the Magic Jack, you get:

A phone number with your area code. This is included at no charge.

Free Voice-mail – You don’t have to be tied to the phone, waiting for that important call. The voicemail feature even works when the MagicJack is disconnected from your PC.

Full portability – This is a big area where MagicJack surpasses its competitors. It is quite small, about the size of a USB flash drive. You can unhook it from your PC, carry it with you, and if you are staying in a hotel, you won’t have to pay those outlandish per-call fees because you can use their free internet access to make calls. Just unplug the phone, plug in the MagicJack, and you’re good to go!

You can hook it up to any computer, anywhere on Earth. When someone calls you, your phone rings…it’s as simple as that. You can use it as your main phone line, or a second line for your kids or your business. It’smuch easier and cheaper than paying the phone company to install another line.

Further more, not to be shady, but if you want to make calls that go “under the radar”, MagicJack is the perfect solution.

If you keep it after your trial period, the Magic Jack itself only costs $40, and comes with the first year of service free. After that, it’s only $20 for an additional year. If you’re tired of paying all those phone company fees, then it’s about time you tried out the Magic Jack!

It has a snazzy name, and an almost unbelievable price of only $19.95 per year, and its popularity is growing. It’s called Magic Jack, and it’s the latest and greatest competitor on the VOIP market. Magic Jack was invented by the same person who brought us AOL’s Talk.com service, and it’s marketed by Don Burns, the guy who created the 10-10- whatever dial-around service, so it already has an impressive pedigree. It is a device that plugs right into any open USB port on your computer, and it’s also connected to your phone. It’s self installing, and it will provide VoIP service using your existing broadband connection.

The Magic Jack can be bought for about forty dollars, which includes the first year of service. If you end up loving it (and we’re sure you will!) it’s only $19.95 per year after that. Unlike Skype or Vonage, Magic Jack’s entire network is privately owned, meaning you’ll always get clear sound and landline-quality connections. If you make a lot of long distance calls, VoIP service is a lot cheaper than a landline, even if it has an unlimited calling plan. For those who pay by the minute for long distance, the savings are even greater.

Are you tired of paying out the “wazoo” for home phone service? If that sounds like you, it might be time to try out Magic Jack. Magic Jack could easily be a money saving investment when it comes to keeping in touch with your friends and family. Currently, Magic Jack is the cheapest VOIP that’s offered on the market. That’s right! It’s blowing its competitors out of the water when it comes to affordability.

All of this talk means nothing without a comparison, right? This article is where Magic Jack is going to be put side by side to two popular VOIP services that are currently being offered to those who are seeking a VOIP solution.

It’s time to tear the prices of VOIP apart!
The cost of Magic Jack is just about $40 USD and about $20 for each year after you purchase Magic Jack. When you want to take advantage of Skype, be prepared to spend about $30 per year. Vonage is even more expensive than that! Vonage is currently sitting at about $500 per year. Magic Jack is the cheapest VOIP solution without a doubt, not only is the startup cost much cheaper than its competitors, so is the recurring cost.

We need to take the quality of sound into consideration when it comes to VOIP.
According to reviews that many VOIP users have left at various places within the internet, the sound quality for all three VOIP solutions receives negative comments. Mainly the quality of sounds, dropped voices, and background noise plays the part when these negative reviews are given. This is something that’s expected with using VOIP. Magic Jack has been proven to be the same if not just as good as its competitors in the VOIP market.

How Magic Jack plays out in the end.
When it all comes down to it, Magic Jack provides an untouchable price for a VOIP solution. It doesn’t seem like a “cheap” product similar to the “made in china tool” that broke on you when you were fixing the lawn. It is by far the easiest VOIP solution to install when it’s compared to the other 2 competitors that were used in this comparison. Whether you are a beginner or professional when it comes to using VOIP, Magic Jack seems to be the best solution that you can find out on the market.

Most of the questions that may arise about Magic Jack can easily be answered online. You can look on their website for answers or simply Google your question in order to find the answer that you’re seeking. Testimonials are also readily available online from other Magic Jack users.

As you can see, Magic Jack holds a strong and effective presence within the VOIP industry. It is an affordable and reliable product that you can use to make and receive telephone calls. Just like everything else, make sure that you research Magic Jack before you buy it, so that you understand what to expect when you purchase it.

Magic Jack has entered the market allowing its users to make affordable long distance calls. Magic Jack can be purchased online within just a few clicks. It only takes a few moments to setup and install Magic Jack in the comfort of your own home. If you’re puzzled about how to start using it or if you haven’t made the purchase yet, this handy little guide will make the process very simple. So simple, your kid could even do it!

Open up the package, you should have a USB cord and a USB device included. If your computer is using a USB hub that’s a/c powered, you will need to use this as well to hook up the Magic Jack USB device. This is optional, but it’s highly recommended if you can’t plug the Magic Jack USB device directly into your computer as it will stop any problems that could happen when not using the a/c powered USB hub.

After you have finished the above step, the next step involves plugging your phone line into a wall outlet that’s used for your home phone service. You will need to wait for the files to be downloaded so that you can use Magic Jack to make and receive telephone calls. When the download is completed, you should see a SoftPhone screen pop up on your computer screen, this will assist you in making telephone calls with your Magic Jack. You can also use a home phone to send and receive telephone calls using Magic Jack.

The SoftPhone screen will provide you with the ability to dial numbers on your computer, provide logging for any phone calls that were dialed, and an address book where you can easily store important phone numbers that you need to have easy access to. You can make phone calls just like a normal home phone service by using your home phone. The SoftPhone screen will also provide you with useful links to your voicemail, Yahoo, Google, and directory assistance. When you’re not using the SoftPhone screen, you do have the ability to minimize it. Keep in mind, you can’t take it off of your desktop, it will always be there.

If your Magic Jack device isn’t working well, go to the Magic Jack website and download MagicFix. This will help fix the issues and your computer will also download any needed updates for your Magic Jack telephone service. You can also get to MagicFix via the SoftPhone screen located on your computer.

Magic Jack is a newbie when it comes to the voice over internet phone (VOIP) world. Installing it and using it is so easy that a kid could do it. The price just sweetens the deal. It simply can’t be beat by anyone for unlimited calling within Canada and the United States. However, the rave about Magic Jack brings up one point that needs to be touched. Is Magic Jack actually worth using?

Just like any other thing that’s promoted and sold, Magic jack has its disadvantages as well as its advantages. This article will lay them both out for you to see, from there it’s all on you to decide what you need when it comes to using the internet to send and receive telephone calls.

Magic Jack Cons
Lets start off with the disadvantages of Magic Jack, this isn’t meant to discourage you from using it. It’s intended to get the bad things out of the way before we fill you up with all of the good things about Magic Jack.

The 911 system that Magic Jack uses isn’t like what normal telephone carriers use. When you install Magic Jack, it will ask you for your location so that it can determine what to use for 911 in the times of emergency. This is why you shouldn’t rely on Magic Jack in the times of an emergency, at least until this feature becomes a lot more reliable for its users. You may want to keep a cell phone handy in case of an emergency.

In order to use Magic Jack, your computer needs to be turned on in order to use Magic Jack. When you receive phone calls while your computer is turned off, callers will be forwarded to your voice mail so that they can leave you a message. If the power goes out and your Internet is affected by the power outage, you won’t be able to use Magic Jack. There has to be an available Internet connection in order to use Magic Jack. Make sure that you keep a phone handy that will work in a power outage, that way you’re not at a loss when it comes to communication with the outside world.

Magic Jack can be unreliable at times. It’s a newer company that does experience the disadvantages of growing in order to fulfill the needs of its consumers.

Directory assistance is only available through your phone. If you click on the 411 button that’s on your computer screen, you will be redirected to a website that will provide you with a list of phone number.

Magic Jack Pros
Now that you know about the disadvantages of Magic Jack, it’s time to take a closer look at what Magic Jack is actually good for.

Magic Jack is packed with a lot of great features that includes voice mail, call forward, 411 (directory assistance), call waiting, and 911.

You can use any telephone that’s designed for a land line. This includes normal home telephones that you plug into the wall and cordless phones that are made for the house.

Another alternative is using your computer speakers and a headset to use Magic Jack for your phone.

Magic Jack is actually a pretty cheap home phone option. It can cost about $39.95 to start out and $19.95 per year afterward. If you purchase multiple years, they can provide you with a discount.

If you make a phone call to someone else that uses Magic Jack as well, international calls are included. If they live in a different country and you want to cut down on the charges associated with talking to them on a phone, consider giving them a Magic Jack as a gift. Not only will you be able to talk to them without worrying about a lot of charges, they will be able to call anyone within the U.S. and Canada.

Use Magic Jack at home to save your cell phone minutes.

If you want something to make long distance calls at home that isn’t going to cause you to take out a second mortgage, than give Magic Jack a try. Just like anything else, it’s important to do the research so that you know exactly what you’re spending your hard-earned money on.
